A 23.0-g sample of an unknown metal is heated to 91.5°C and is placed in a perfectly insulated container along with 102.g of water at an initial temperature of 21.80°C. After a short time the temperature of both the metal and water become equal at 23.80°C. The specific Heat Capacity of water is 4.18 J/g/K in this temperature range. What is the specific heat capacity of the metal?

ok do it like this Q = c m dT so c1 m1 dT1 = c2m2dT2 c2= c1m1dT1/m2 dT2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 0,374 J/gK but this was fast calculation without my calculator...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as is said i didnt calculate it on paper with calculator i roughly calculated it and i told you so... now if you compare value i got and table of values its probably copper with value of 0.385

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like i said im not calculating it... thats your job i just got that value by roughly calculating it... its almos 4 am here and i should go catch some sleep... good luck

i gave you equations you just need to put in numbers with caution on units and thats it... and you shouldnt wait last minute for solving these kind of things if you dont know how to solve them, you had 2 days as i see to solve it...
