Atomic mass is represented by amu. Amu is basically when you take the elements on the periodic table and add them up. For example, you have NaCl. You add the mass (amu) of Na = 22.99 and Cl = 35.45 those two added together is 58.44 amu.

Another way to represent amu is grams/mole so there are 58.44 grams per 1 mole of NaCl
