The density of gold is 19.3 g/cm^3. You inherit as gold bar that measures 7.0 inches by 3.0 inches by 2.0 inches. How many ounces does the bar weigh

OpenStudy (zephyr141):

using the conversion factor of 2.54centimeters per 1 inch you can convert all the measurements into centimeters. knowing that and knowing \[volum=l*w*h\] you can just take the volume and multiply it by the density of gold since \[Density=\frac{ mass }{ volume }\] so basically your answer will be \[mass=(19.3)\left[ 2.54\left( 7.0*3.0*2.0 \right) \right]\]

OpenStudy (zephyr141):

oh right and then you have to convert your mass you just found into ounces and that's 0.0353grams per ounce.
