Which is stronger : HCl or HF?? And why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HCl is much stronger than HF due to the electronegativity between the hydrogen and fluoride, meaning a stronger bond between the two and therefore fewer H+ ions within a solution. HCl on the other hand ionizes almost completely within a solution and therefore there are more H+ ions in the water leading to higher acidity/lower ph

OpenStudy (imtiaz7):

HCl is a stronger acid than HF REASONS: HCl has more ionic character than covalent character. If the atom bonded to the Hydrogen is larger in size than the acid will be stronger.(due to difference in polarity of the compound) If the acid is more polar it dissociates to a greater extent when present in a polar solvent like water. HCl dissociates almost completely, whereas HF dissociates partially and hence HCl is a stronger acid then HF.
