calculate the energy change a beaker containing 450 grams of water is heated from 15.0 C to 18.0 C. A. Determine the energy change for the water. B. Determine the energy change for the surroundings.
=m*s*dt
m= mass of water
dt= change in temprature s= specific heat
thank you for your reply that's the exact formula I used and I got 130kj earlier
but im not sure that answer is for which of the question also how do I find the answer for the other question
s=4.18 j/gk for water
and mass=450 g dt=3
heat=450*4.18*3
=5643 joules =5.6 kJ
why is dt 3?
lol dt = change in temprature
so u tell me now dt=??
wops yea I was confused I typed the number wrong 15c to 85 c it should be 70degree difference
lolll
so yea I think I got the answer for one of the question but not sure the answer to which of the question a or b. can u tell me how to find the answer for the other question
