just put the dots use the values from the x value or time and the y values for how "tall" the point is.

a best fit line is a line that goes through the majority of points. Depending on how it looks, if linear, make a linear equation- if not, make an exponential. To do the you can plug in already premade values and create an equation that will fit through the majority of points.

@ilovchuu do not worry about 'exponentials' etc - first just put the data points on the graph - so for instance follow the '2000' line UP until it reaches 1605 on the vertical axis -put a cross there. @JackleBee - This is going to be a straight line equation - The best fit line does not necessarily pass through ANY points. It minimises the error of ALL points from the line. For practical purposes, and whenas ked 'draw' it - you can make a good estimate by lying your ruler on the graph and see how close oyu can get it to all the points.

Given that you WROTE it I cannot possibly know how dumb you are or not. You gave incorrect info to someone who is maybe new to the subject, and I do not like to see posters working with misleading information. I am not a 'ninny' (whatever THAT is!) It is important to give precise info here - or people get led to the wrong methods and misunderstandings.

Put all the points onto the graph - and then draw a line that seems to pass close to all the points The line is just a 'guess' by drawing it - but gives you a good idea of the slope of the graph. If you can do that then you will get help here If you cannot plot the points then you must ask your teacher, or read a textbook - this is a basic requirement to understanding graphs and charts.

So if oyu have the points then you must draw a line that passes as close to al of them as you can make it. (Note that there is a mathematical way of establishing the best fit line - but this question suggests you draw it) To get the equation of the line you must do the following: Choose 2 points (ON THE LINE- not data points) near the start and end of the graph. Measure the change in Y values between the point Measure the change in X values between the points Read the Y value where the line crosses the Y axis |dw:1413360502410:dw| Calculate slope m = change in Y/change in X The point where th eline crosses the Y axis is c The equation of the line is y=mx+c That is the answer to the first part
