Hi wow, i just found his site, i hope its legit!! How do you balance Mg with O2(2 is lower) an it forms MgO? any help would be omg soo appreciated

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Do you mean balancing the chemical equation \( Mg+O_2→MgO\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes and it forms MgO

OpenStudy (aaronq):

all you're trying to do is to have the same number of atoms on both sides. You do this by adding numbers (called coefficients) infront of each compound. This has a multiplicative effect, for example: \(2~Fe_2O_3\) means you have 4 Fe atoms and 6 O atoms |dw:1413124295740:dw|
