OpenStudy (ebydaqueen19):

Please help me find the molar concentration of a sulfuric acid solution, 35.00 ml of which neutralizes 25.00 ml of .320M NaOH

OpenStudy (cuanchi):

Since both protons in H2SO4 are acidic protons relative to NaOH, both H's will react with NaOH. Thus, a balanced chemical reaction is written as: H2SO4 + 2NaOH = Na2SO4 + 2H2O This indicates that 2 moles of NaOH are needed to fully react with 1 mole of H2SO4 (per mole of reaction).

OpenStudy (preetha):

Here is how you set it up. For all titration problems of this type: M of H2SO4 = 25 ml NaOH x 1L/1000ml x 0.32 Moles/1L NaOH x 1 mole H2SO4/2moles of NaOH x 1/35ml x 1000 ml/1L First you are calculating moles of NaOH, Then you convert the moles of NaOH to moles of H2SO4 then you convert the moles to Molarity by dividing by volume of sulfuric acid.
