When heated, calcium carbonate decomposes to yield calcium oxide and carbon dioxide gas via the reaction CaCO3(s)→CaO(s)+CO2(g) What is the mass of calcium carbonate needed to produce 75.0L of carbon dioxide at STP?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, calculate the amount of \(CO_2\) in moles. The reaction \(CaCO_3\rightarrow CaO+CO_2\) shows that to produce 1 mole of \(CO_2\), we need 1 mole of \(CaCO_3\). Use the amount of \(CO_2\) to calculate the mass of \(CaCO_3\).
