so first of all wrong section! Secondly wrong formula! I think you mean \[P_{1}V_{1}=P_{2}V_{2}\] it comes from the ideal gas law: \[PV=nRT\] To do this problem simply plug in those values and solve for the volume so: \[(102kPa)(6.1L) = (230kPa)(xL)\]solve for x.

You probably should, but you have to round to two decimal places (as stated in your question)!

and you can broadly check your answer with some quick mental math. Since we basically doubled the pressure, the volume should be about half of the original volume. And is 2.71L about half of 6.1L? Yes it is!
