What is the concentration of the base (KOH) in the following titration, given the data below? 0.75 M HBr Unknown KOH initial burette reading 0.0 ml 0.5 ml final burette reading 22.6 ml 37.5 ml
you need to know the volume of the base to be able to calculate the concentration. With the information that you have here only can I calculate the moles of base. you have to do the difference of volume between the final minus the initial for each of your two measurements. That volumes you can get an average value of both measurements. With the average volume of titrant in liters multiplied by the concentration of the HBr you will get the number of moles of HBr. If you know the volume of KOH you can divide the number of moles of HBr that is equal to the number of moles of KOH (because you are doing a titration) and you will get the concentration of the unknown KOH.
