HELP ME OUT PLEASE! I have a question on the periodic table.

OpenStudy (hannaha):

This is the question

OpenStudy (hannaha):

COME ON PEOPLE :((((

OpenStudy (mstoldegon):

If an atom is Neutral in charge (not an Ion) then the number of electrons should equal the number of protons. 42 protons = 42 electrons The number of Neutrons is generally determined by subtract the number of Protons from the Atomic Weight. 96 - 42 = 56 Number of Valence electrons is 4d5 + 5s1 = 6 Number of electrons in the 3rd shell is 18 (seemed too easy. Did I not understand n = 3 shell?)

OpenStudy (hannaha):

Okay :) thanks Sadly, I kind of gave up and chose some random guesses but I'll try again with this Thank you!!
