Help Calculate the following quantity: Molarity of a solution prepared by diluting 37.00 mL of 0.250 M potassium chloride to 150.00 mL
Use M1V1 = M2V2 when setting up a dilution problem.
M for molar and V for volume
Um would it be like this: 37.00 x 0.250 = 150.00 x 0.250 ???
no M1V1 and M2V2 are separate M1is 0.250 and V1 is 37.00 mL 150.00 mL is V2 and you are solving for Molarity which is M2 (0.250)(37.00 mL) = M2(150.00 mL) solve for M2 now
A diluted 37.00 mL of 0.250 M potassium chloride is prepared. That's for M1 and V1. What would be the molarity of a solution by diluting 150.0 ml of potassium chloride? That would be the separate measurement, we already know what's the volume (V2) but we are calculating for molarity (M2)
