OpenStudy (beccab003):

Can someone please help me figure this out? It is a simple question. Medal to best answer. Silver has two naturally occurring isotopes. A typical sample consists of 51.84 percent silver-107 (106.9051 amu) and 48.16 percent silver-109 (108.9048 amu). Calculate the average atomic mass of silver. 1.079 x 104 amu 47 amu 107.87 amu 1078 amu

OpenStudy (beccab003):

I did the problem and got 107.87 amu. Is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ag-107 = 51.7% Ag-109 = 48.3% Average would be 107.87 amu
