2.Which of the following is the best description of how electrons are transferred in an ionic bond? A. A metal atom loses electrons and a nonmetal atom gains electrons. B. A metal atom gains electrons and a nonmetal atom loses electrons. C. A metal and a nonmetal atom lose electrons. D. A metal and a nonmetal atom gain electrons.

The answer is the first one as while forming an ionic bond the metal atom loses electrons to gain a positive charge whereas the non-metal atom gains these electrons and gets a negative charge and then these charges attract and they bond together forming the ionic bond. It could be the second one to but I would go with the first one. Hope this helps! :)
