okay here is how you go about doing this:
0+1-5-2 +2+5-2 +4-2+1-2
Ca + HNO3 -> Ca(NO3)2 + NO2 + H2O
Ca metal is oxidized to Ca2+
N is reduced from +5 to +4.
so your answer is Ca
