Will give medal When Alka-Seltzer dissolves in water, why does the temperature of the water go down?
@sangya21
any ideas @sangya21
Sorry I dont know about this one.
OK thank you anyways. Do you know anyone who could help?
I have sent the msg lets see.
thanks!
anytime. :)
endothermic reaction
what does that mean? Sorry I'm not very good at chemistry.
An endothermic reaction is a reaction that absorbs heat.
She's right
ok thanks!
You're welcome. :)
it's a classic endothermic experiment
sorry to bother you @StudyGurl14 but which part of the reaction is absorbing heat? I am writing my conclusion and though I should include something about endothermic reactions.
alka seltzer + h20 + heat -----> products (colder)
Not sure exactly which part absorbs the heat...I just know that endothermic reactions absorb heat during the reaction....
so would the alka seltzer be absorbing the heat, and thats why CO2 is released? @nic2131
its absorbing the heat because its required for the reaction to go forward. So the system ( which is the reactants) is taking in heat together
