Write the net ionic equation for: 2NaF + Ca(NO3)2 -> CaF2 + 2Na(NO3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wrote NaF -> F- + Na- not feeling too confident with my answer though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the states for the compounds. also, chem rule of thumb, Na is always soluble. it's a spectator ion.No3 is also soluble, so it's a spectator ion too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Na No3 is soluble...it's aqueous, thus, the equation will be Ca +F => CaF2. Balance it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for pointing out solubility of Ca, totally skipped that. Now I'm getting (2F-) + (Ca 2+) -> CaF2
