Ratio help please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can someone help me please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This one is cubed as well so I don't know if that plays a difference in solving...

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

\[\large \bf \frac{smaller}{larger}=\frac{343}{1331}\]

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

can you identify common factor between 343 and 1331 ? @lily1021

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um not on the top of my head

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's see...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel like only 1 is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not the best with identifying larger number common factors.

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

no,we have to find its length ratio,and given question is about volume, Since,we know that \[\large \bf Lenght^3=Volume\] \[\large \bf Length=\sqrt[3]{Volume}\]

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

therefore,we get \[\large \bf \sqrt[3]{\frac{343}{1331}} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay...

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

and we know that, \[\large \bf 7^3=343~and~11^3=1331\]

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

so,we get \[\large \bf Ratio=\frac{7}{11}\]

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

hope you understand. @lily1021

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah. You explained it really well. I understand now, thank you so much!

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's actually quite simple-ish

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

so simple !
