I don't understand how to do this. fan + medal.
Alright , what don't you understand ?
Ill put a picture
|dw:1416429868726:dw| I need to find the area and HGF
That's all it gives you ?
Yeah
But it doesn't even give you a value of H
We know the value is more than 10. Because FG=10, now we have to look for the value of H.
And once we do, we have to multiply it by 10 (because FG) and it will give you the area
theres the actual picture if that helps
I believe the answer is 74 degrees, reason being is because the value of DFG is 37 degrees, and DGF is HALF of HFG
so multiplying 37 by 2 will give you 74 degrees
that makes sense. but how would i find the area if i dont know the other side?
the area of a rhombus = \(s^2sin(a)\) where s is any side and a is any interior angle recall that all sides are equal in rhombuses
so 10^2(sin) ?
Okay let me break this down.. HGF is a full triangle because when you connect H - F - G and the question its self gives you HALF of the triangle's area which is DFG and it gives you the value of 37 Since you have HALF of the product, multiply it by 2 to get the FULL product.
what does A mean?
I got the angle part
I'm not sure what the internal angle would be. we couldn't use DFG because it's not a full angle like EFG would be
oh, I see. the diagonals bisect each other so now we can find FD using the pythagorean formula
|dw:1416431601858:dw| now we can use the formula for area of a rhombus using diagonals \(\huge \frac{p*q}{2}\)
