The website I'm supposed to learn this lesson on is down. I need help filling in the blanks? Thanks!!
20. Acids release ______________________ ions in solution and are numbers ______ through ______ on the pH scale. 21. Bases release ______________________ ions in solution and are numbers ______ through ______ on the pH scale. 22. Distilled water would be considered neither an acid nor base, or _______________________, which is number ______ on the pH scale.
Oh boy. I feel bad having you help me again..
Acids are chemicals which release H+ ions. For example HCl. While there are some other chemicals which are called bases which release OH− ions. Any substance having pH < 7 is acidic and pH >7 is basic. While substance having pH = 7 are neutral.
No it's ok....can you feel in the blanks on your own now ?
*fill
Acids release H+ ions in solution and are numbers 7 through 0 on the pH scale. ?
\(\huge \checkmark\)
Next ....
Right.
I mean can u fill the others ? and remember the maximum limit of pH scale is 14. So pH scale runs from 0 to 14
Bases release OH- ions in solution and are numbers 0 through 14 on the pH scale.
correct....correct...
Last one...
Right. Last one.. Distilled water would be considered neither an acid nor base, or _______________________, which is number 7 on the pH scale. Not sure what the first blank is.
Neutral.
Thank you so much once again.. You've truly been a lifesaver!
my pleasure :)
