OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am. (: What's up?

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

I am doing the lab for unit four have you done that? I need help on the report for it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not yet. What's the lab about? And the question? I'm sure I could guide you through it.

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

Its the Salts: Precipitation reactions lab I need the possible chemical names for the results I got... The results are --> BaCl2 + Na2CrO4 that is one the other is BaCl2 + K2CrO4 (I need possible chemical names for these reactions)

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

but those arnt chemical names???

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

@thomaster @JFraser plz help!!!

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

@aaronq @jdoe0001 CAN ANYONE HELP!! OR KNOW OF SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Barium chloride= BaC12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sodium chromate= Na2CrO4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Potassium chromate= K2CrO4

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

I know but I need the name after they react with the other chemical BaC12 + Na2CrO4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh.. hold up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that one is an impossible reaction it says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.webqc.org/balance.php

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says its impossible

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

arrr well I did it, it says so in my lab book, and it turned yellow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk then..

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

do you kno anyone that could help??

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

@humphriescody

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. what do we have here...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first one. Barium Chromate definitely is the yellow solid

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

I need the possible CHEMICAL NAMES for the results I got... The results are --> BaCl2 + Na2CrO4 that is one the other is BaCl2 + K2CrO4 (I need possible chemical names for these reactions)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i meant that for the second equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually both of them will produce the same solid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go to that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when you say chemical names, what exactly do u mean?

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

ok cuz they were both a bright yellow solid, but can you explain why it would be Barium Chromate?... and @haileyalissa I tried my computer wont open it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, by solubility rules, we know that most chromates are insoluble

OpenStudy (anonymous):

except for group 1 chromates and a few others

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

ok so anything will be a chromate if it is a solid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not exactly

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

then how do we kno? could it be anything else?

OpenStudy (catlover5925):

@physo ^
