Use the F.O.I.L method. It's very easy. (First, Outer, Inner, Last) (w + 2)(w + 12) w and w are first. So multiply them together and you get w^2. w and 12 are outer. So multiply them together and you get 12w. 2 and w are inner. Multiply them and get 2w. 2 and 12 are last. Multiply them and get 24. We're left with w^2 + 12w + 2w + 24 Combine like terms.
