find f^-1 (x) given that f (x) is 5x-3

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

f(x)=5x-3, is a continuos function and monotonic, so we can calculate the inverse function. Now if I call y=5x-3, I can write: \[x=\frac{ y+3 }{ 5 }\] so: \[f ^{-1}(y)=\frac{ y+3 }{ 5 }\]
