OpenStudy (bruno102):

An atom with high ionization energy will form a positive ion more easily than an atom with low ionization energy. T/F?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, the opposite. You see, ionization energy is energy required to remove an electron from the outtermost shell of an element in its gaseous state. Therefore, if the energy is high, it means it is hard to remove the electron, therefore, the ion is formed hardly.

OpenStudy (bruno102):

Thank you so much, especially for explaining it to me so clearly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My pleasure.
