Let V be the subspace of R^5 spanned by the vectors a=(2,3,-2,5,2) and b=(3,2,3,1,3) You are given the information that the following are ordered bases of V: A=(a,b) B=(u,v) where u=(8,17,-20,33,8) and v=(3,7,-9,14,3). Then dim(V)= ? , and the matrix CB<-A which converts from A-coordinates to B-coordinates is? (have to fill a 2x2 matrix)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

basis is a minimal set needed to span a space. dim(V) = |A| = 2

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

hmm maybe this is out of my range... what is an ordered basis? So our set of vectors is a ordered set?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i think so.. basically in A there are vectors and b. and in B there are vectors u and v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm
