What mass of glucose (c6h12o6) is needed to prepare 200.0 ml of a 2.50M glucose solution?
I converted the ml to Liters which is 0.2 L I also found the molar mass of glucose which is180g/mol.
you need just one more step. You need to use the molarity and the volume of solution you have to make in order to find the \(moles\) of glucose needed to make that solution
okay but I have the molarity of 2.50M how do I use that in the formual of moles of solute/volume of solution (L)?
@JFraser
that 2.5M \(IS\) the ratio. You need to rearrange the equation to solve for the moles\[2.5M = \frac{2.5 moles}{1L}\]
you need to make 0.200L of solution, so use the concentration as a conversion factor
\[0.200 \cancel{L} * \frac{2.5 moles}{\cancel{1L}}\]
oh okay!! I see so will I do this each time when I see a problem asking for the mass ? since the Molarity is already given....
