what is the ratio of sound intensities for which the intensity level difference is 1db? (Hint B1-B2=1dB)

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

the level L, of intensity is given by the subsequent formula: \[L=10\log_{10}(\frac{ I }{ I _{0} } )\] where I is the correspondent intensity, and I_0 is a reference intensity. So applyng the above formula for two intensities, namely I_1 and I_2, we have: \[\Delta L=L _{2}-L _{1}=10\log_{10} (\frac{ I _{2} }{ I _{1} })\] from which: \[(\frac{ I _{2} }{ I _{1} })=10^{(\Delta L/10)}\] Please try to substitute your numerical data, in order to get your answer.
