I am having trouble with my Chemistry class. Right now, I am on the Stolchlometry part of my coarse. HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H2O 1. If 30g of HCl is dissolved and 10g of NaCl is produced, what is the theoretical yield of the experiment? 2. If 30 g of HCl is dissolved and 10 g of NaCl is produced, what is the percent yield of the experiment?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

stoichiometry uses MOLES to compare different amounts of substances, not MASS, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's correct Mr. Fraser! Stoichiometry deals with only moles. Unfortunately though there's no moles in the problem! Oh no! What should we do next?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

even though I don't have moles, i have a FORMULA. I can get to moles
