Calculus Question, would appreciate some help. Screenshot in the comments.
x^3 = 25x x^2 = 25 x = 5 y = 5^3 y = 125 Answer: x = 5, y = 125
I don't believe that is the answer I'm looking for?
Yes i am seeing the same i did something totally different... hmm
that indeed how i would start though... you need to find intersection points first
he was trying to find the intersections x^3=25x x^3-25x=0 x(x^2-25)=0 x(x-5)(x+5)=0 intersections @ x=0 x=5, x=-5 one of these we care nothing for
Ok so we found intersections...what from there?
Plotting the graphs it can be seen that at x = 5, the two functions cross and do not enclose any area beyond x = 5, so I will use the limits from x = 0 to x = 5 = Lim 0 to 5 ∫ π [(25x)^2 - (x^3)^2]dx = Lim 0 to 5 π [(625x^3)/3 - (x^7)/7] = \[ \pi\] [625 * 125/3 - (5^7)/7 - 0] = \[ \pi\] * 14880.95 cubic units = 46749.88 cubic units
dang it i was busy typing and not looking to see if i made mistakes
hahaha it's ok! That was the right answer!
Oh ok i was gonna rewrite it lol
