2^x=49 is approximately 5.61 T or F? i don't know where to start..

i wrote the last question wrong. @uri

Do you know anything about logarithms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i do, but for some reason I'm drawing a complete blank..

OpenStudy (uri):

Then you need to take the log of each side: Log 2^x = log 49 X log 2 = log 49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is an easier way however

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is arranged B-E-N (Base, exponent, number) and you just re arrange it B-N-E so it would look like:\[2^{x} = 49\] to \[\log_{2}(49 = x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you would use the change of base formula so you can plug it into your calculator\[\frac{Log(49 }{ Log(2 } = x\] Which basically comes out to what uri said
