How many moles of oxygen are needed to burn 1.33 moles of methyl alcohol (CH3OH)? 2CH3OH + 3O2 2CO2 + 4H2O

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please note that your equation can be rewritten as below: \[CH _{3}OH+\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }O _{2}\rightarrow CO _{2}+2H _{2}O\]

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

which means that for 1 mole of aocohol we have to use 1.5 moles of oxygen, then for 1.33 moles of alcohol, we have to use 1.5*1.33=... moles of oxygen
