How many grams of water are produced by reacting 15.8 g H2 with excess oxygen?
@Abhisar please help quick!
Firt write down the balanced equation
2H2 + O2 ---> 2H2O
Then use either molar or mass ratios of hydrogen to oxygen. Better use of mass, because it will facilitate you to find the mass directly.
I mean ratio of hydrogen to water.
@Hoslos i got 15.8...is that right?
frm the equation u cn see that 4 grams of H2 produces 32 grams of water. Find how many grams of water will be produced by 1 gram of H2
then multiply it with 15.8
ohhh so 282 g is the answer. thank you :)
It's 36 grams and not 32 grams...
No. Find the molar ratio first of H to H2O. It is 1:1 simplified, therefore with the mass ratios are 2:18 or 1:9, therefore with 15.8g of H, you have 15.8*9/1=142.2g of water.
@Hoslos thanks for the correction. i really appreciate your help. :)
4 gram \(\sf H_2\) -----> 36 gram \(\sf H_2O\) => 1 gram of \(\sf H_2\) ------> 36/4=9 grams \(\sf H_2O\)
No problem.
Now 15.8 grams of \(\sf H_2\) will produce \(\sf 9\times 15.8\) grams of water...
