Which type of bonding involves the complete transfer of a valence electron from a less electronegative atom to a more electronegative one? ionic bonding metallic bonding covalent bonding hydrogen bonding

OpenStudy (nechirwan):

ionic bonding

OpenStudy (nechirwan):

Basically ionic bonds will form between two elements that have a large electronegativity difference, and they are considered a transfer of electrons (i.e. Sodium gives up one electron to Chlorine and they form Sodium Chloride (NaCl), but it is actually composed of Na+ ions and Cl- ions that are attracted because they are oppositely charged).

Ok thanks :)
