You are given a 2.5 L beaker of water and asked to make a 1 M solution of acetic acid crystal. How much acetic acid crystal will you need to add? You have 9.0 g of CaCl2(s) crystals and you have to make it into a 3.0 M aqueous solution. How much water do you add?

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

M stands for molarity Molarity = Moles/Liters so for the first question 1M = x Moles/2.5L once you have moles use the formula Moles = grams/molecular mass and solve for grams using he molecular mass of acetic acid and the moles you determined from the first equation The other question just apply the molarity formula and solve for Liters, then just say add 9.0grams of calcium chloride and then fill up to x liters
