OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Check my answers on 2 questions? Which of the following is a single replacement reaction? \(CaO + H_2O \rightarrow Ca(OH)_2\\ Mg + 2HNO_3 \rightarrow Mg(NO_3)_2 + H2\\ NaOH + HCl \rightarrow H_2O + NaCl\\ CH_4 + 2O_2 \rightarrow CO_2 + 2H_2O\)

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I believe it is the second option

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

@iambatman

OpenStudy (sreekar369):

u r correct @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Then this on Which of the following pairs of reactants will react together to produce water (H2O) as one of the products? \(Fe(OH)_3 ~and~ CuO\\ Cu(OH)_2 ~and ~H_2S\\ HBr ~and~ MgO\\ SO_3 ~and ~H_2O\) I think the second option again.

OpenStudy (sreekar369):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The second option looks good, but I'm not entirely sure.

OpenStudy (sreekar369):

@sleepyjess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, sreekar is a better help in chem than me :)

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

:) you were a good helper in the other question

OpenStudy (sreekar369):

thqs @iambatman

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

thqs XP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (danjs):

MgO + 2 HBr ---> MgBr2 + H2O and Cu(OH)2 + H2S ---> CuS + 2H2O 2 of them will form water, double displacement reactions.

OpenStudy (danjs):

Magnesium oxide and hydrogen bromide produce magnesium bromide and water
