OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DanJS

OpenStudy (danjs):

hmm, i have to remember what this means..

OpenStudy (danjs):

i c now

OpenStudy (danjs):

you have to do one for each interval... x=1 to 3, 3 to 4...., all of em, and add them up

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

if I divide your interval, namely [1,10] in ten equal length sub intervals, then applying the rectangle method I find:

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

\[\int\limits_{1}^{10}f(x) dx=\frac{ 10 }{ 10 }(f(1)+f((3)+f(4)+f(6)+f(7)+f(9)+f(10))=76\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!!

OpenStudy (danjs):

ok \[\Delta x = \frac{ b-a }{ n } = \frac{ 10 - 1 }{ 6 } = \frac{ 3 }{ 2 }\] \[\int\limits_{a}^{b}f(x)dx \approx \frac{ \Delta x }{ 2 }[f(1) + 2*f(3) + 2*f(4) + 2*f(6) + 2*f(7) +2*f(9) + f(10)]\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[\frac{ 3 }{ 4 }[4 + 2*8 + 2*6 + 2*10 + 2*10 + 2*12 + 16] \]

OpenStudy (danjs):

I got 84

OpenStudy (danjs):

@mondona

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DanJS your answer was right! 84 thanks!
