I know how to work it out but could you teach me how to multiply the fraction
with -3
ys, when you multiply a number times a fraction, you would multiply this number times the top of the fraction, So if you had: \(\large\color{black}{ -\frac{\LARGE 1}{\LARGE 2}\times (-3) }\) then you get: \(\large\color{black}{ -\frac{\LARGE 1\times (-3)}{\LARGE 2} }\)
That would be -3/2?
but you already have 1 minus in front of the 1/2. So, it would be: \(\large\color{black}{ -\frac{\LARGE -3}{\LARGE 2} }\) which then becomes: \(\large\color{black}{ \frac{\LARGE 3}{\LARGE 2} }\) (because two negatives become positive)
