Suppose we add -2 to 2, which gives 0. How can we go about that? Hint: There are at least two ways.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Also note that row 3 has a 2...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2R1 + R2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that the answer?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Why would you multiply row 2 by -2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea.. I don't know how to do matrices

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Did you ever think of just subtracting row 2 from row 3?

no

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Also there are many answers but what you said the first time is correct! I thought it said -2R2 bu it said -2R1 lol so -2R1 + R2 is also correct :)
