Endothermic reactions are different than exothermic reactions in that: In endothermic reactions, heat is released to the surroundings. In endothermic reactions, heat is absorbed from the surroundings. In exothermic reactions, heat is absorbed from the surroundings. In exothermic reactions, the temperature of the surroundings decreases.

Endothermic = absorbs energy (that's why the substance feels cold when you touch it after this reaction because it is absorbing heat/energy) Exothermic = releases energy (substance is getting hot cause it's releasing heat/energy)
