For each, (a) find the ED; (b) determine the kind of bond (NP covalent or polar covalent), (c) name the compound & (d) draw the Lewis structure for each. 1. H2O 2. HI 3. H2S 4. PCl3 5. CH4 6. ClF 7.) C2H6

I dont need the lewis stucture just everything else!

OpenStudy (bohotness):

Which one do you thin k it is

OpenStudy (jfraser):

you really need to do the lewis structures first, before you can answer any of the other questions easily

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really??

OpenStudy (jfraser):

I think that's the easiest way. It's hard to determine a domain without a lewis structure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I got most of it I dont know any of the compounds ans i dont know the ED or bond for number 6

OpenStudy (jfraser):

naming covalent compounds is really easy, it uses prefixes to tell you how many of each atom make up the formula, in the order they are written. For #6, it looks like a chlorine and fluorine atom bonded, so that would be chlorine monofluoride.
