I forgot how to do this?? Solving for variable?
your sexy pepsi
well you have to plugin v
\[\frac{v+2}3=\frac{15}{v-2}\] multiplying by the denominators \[(v-2)\times(v+2)=3\times15\] Rearrange this into the general form of A Quadratic Equation\[ax^2+bx+c=0\] and use the The Quadratic Formula\[x_{1,2}=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\]
are you trying to make the equation true???@joejoldin
@joejoldin
@andrewhaze yes
@JoeJoldin yes what the equation has to be true
@UnkleRhaukus Which parts of the equation go in the quadratic formula?
have you got the equation into the form \[av^2+bv+c=0\] yet?
@UnkleRhaukus I haven't
Rearrange \[(v-2)\times(v+2)=3\times15\] until it is of the form \[av^2+bv+c=0\]
2v^2 + 2v + 3 = 15? @UnkleRhaukus
\[(\overbrace{\overbrace{\color{orange}a +\underbrace{\color{cornflowerblue}b)(\color{seagreen}c}_{\text{Inside}}}^{\text{First}} +\color{brown}d}^{\text{Outside}}) =%unklerhaukus \overbrace{\color{orange}a\color{seagreen}c}^\text F +\overbrace{\color{orange}a\color{brown}d}^\text O +\underbrace{\color{cornflowerblue}b\color{seagreen}c}_\text I +\underbrace{\color{cornflowerblue}b\color{brown}d}_\text L\\ \quad\quad \underbrace{\qquad\quad}_{\text{Last}}\]
still not sure @UnkleRhaukus
\[(\color{orange}v\color{cornflowerblue}{-2})(\color{seagreen}v+\color{brown}2)= (\color{orange}v\times \color{seagreen}v)+(\color{orange}v\times\color{brown}2)+(\color{cornflowerblue}{-2}\times\color{seagreen}v)+(\color{cornflowerblue}{-2}\times\color{brown}2)\]
So do I factor them now? @UnkleRhaukus
don't factor, simplify
v^2 = v^3 + 2^2 @UnkleRhaukus ?
. . . what? No.
@UnkleRhaukus Can you help me then please
