How do you find a neutron in an atomic number?

number of neutrons is atomic mass minus atomic number

since the atomic number is the number of protons in a a nucleus, and the nucleus is made up of protons and neutrons. Atomic mass is the number of all the subatomic particles, , protons, and neutrons. The whole mass subtracted by the given mass of protons will certainly give you the neutrons. Remember, electron's mass is way way way less than a given neutron and protons, it has no effect.

The way i learnt it was the atomic mass number (A) = Neutrons (N) + Protons (P) And the atomic number (Z) = Protons (P) So if you want to find the number of neutrons (N) You would Atomic mass (A) - Atomic number (Z) = Neutrons (N)
