OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

Can somebody please tell me what the variables in this table mean?

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

in the ideal gas section

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\(c_p\) is the specific heat for a constant pressure. \(c_v\) is the specific heat for a constant volume. The specific gas constant \(R\) is equal to the universal gas constant \(\bar R=8.314\,[\text J/\text{mol}/\text K]\), divided by the molar mass \(M\) of the substance \[R=\bar R/M\] The specific gas constant \(R\) is also equal the difference of the specific heats \[R=c_p-c_v\]
