Atoms bond in several different ways to form molecules. Which changes result from an ionic bond between two atoms? A. One or more electrons from each atom are lost. B. One or more electrons will be transferred from the electron shell of one atom to another atom. C. Electrons will be transferred from the nucleus of one atom to another atom. D. Electrons from each atom are shared equally.
what do you think @TeenWolfGirl
I think B
no it is not B try again
D?
no @TeenWolfGirl
think again
C
@TeenWolfGirl you are right it is B
correct @TeenWolfGirl
no it is C
The answer is B. In ionic, they share valence electrons..
I AM GETTING CONFUSED!!!
answer is C @Love_Ranaa
nope its not C coz Electrons ARE NOT IN THE NUCLEUS OF THE ATOM
gowith whatever you think @TeenWolfGirl
confusing me now
just go with B if that is what you think I really thought it was C but I guess i was wrong
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atom " Protons and neutrons together are called nucleons. The nucleus is surrounded by one or more electrons. " the point is same but whats important here is the location of electrons so option C was made to confuse you coz option C and B are VERY much alike and if you know the location of electron then u can easily pick the right answer :)
oh explain because i am so confused right now
Thank you
In an ionic bond, one or more electrons are transferred from one atom to another. During ionic bonding, atoms either lose electrons (if they are metals), or gain electrons (non-metals). Thats all..Dont listen to him..
oh and @Love_Ranaa I LOVE YOUR PICTURE IS THAT NIKKI MANJI?!!!
Yes lol but thanks : @TeenWolfGirl I LOVE HER
is it clear now? btw @Love_Ranaa 'sharing valance electrons' is covalent bond not Ionic in ionic bond lets say you have one atom which has 7 electrons in its last shell while the other one has 1 electron in its last shell the likely bond formation between these two atoms is that 7 electron having atom will TAKE 1 electron of the other atom which has 1 electron (meaning it'll LOSE that 1 electron by GIVING it to the other atom which has 7 electrons originally) so in the end the atom that originally had 7 electrons will have 8 electrons in its last shell while the other atom which originally had 1 electrons - will have 0 electrons in its last shell bottom line here is that in ionic bonds - the atoms involved want to reach their OCTET state and for that depending on number of electrons they ALREADY have - they choose - GIVE? or TAKE? electrons in making of bond the one for which its closer to get to octet state by GIVING - gives electron and the one for which its closer to get to octet state by TAKING - takes electrons thats about it
ME TOO
Thank you
@Somy Thanks for telling me @TeenWolfGirl YAAS! A lot of people think she's...explicit and don't really listen to her good songs :)
@TeenWolfGirl And thanks for the testimonial lol
ikr! people say she is fake. but she rights her own music unlike some rapper girls.. and np
you are welcome) ah the explanation was for @TeenWolfGirl to get rid of confusion :)
