Models of four atoms are shown as figures A, B, C, and D. Which two atoms represent isotopes of the same element? A. A and C B. C and D C. B and C D. A and B http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/939000_939500/939155/1/045694a7dcbbf6c72d19d6c5fbd03a3c622e86d8/MS2_PHY_05_02_109__isotopes.jpg

OpenStudy (somy):

Isotopes - are atoms of the SAME element which have: SAME NUMBER OF PROTONS BUT DIFFERENT NUMBER OF NEUTRONS (electron number = proton number since the talk is most probably about neutral state)

I agree with @Somy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please explain a little simpilar sorry i am not that smart and this is confusing me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C?

@Love_Ranaa

OpenStudy (love_ranaa):

Sorry it took so long, but looking at it, I think its B. C & D Tell me if I'm wrong @TeenWolfGirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am confused on this question because i don't get it

OpenStudy (somy):

look at red, yellow and blue balls note how many each of A, B, C, D have then look carefully at numbers the 2 of which have same number of BLUE balls-electrons and same number of RED balls-protons BUT have different number of YELLOW balls-neutrons are the isotopes
