OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the pH of a solution with a hydroxide ion concentration of 10^-6^m A:pH =8 B:pH =7 C:pH =12 D:pH =6

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

-log(10^-6) = [OH-] then remeber that [H+] + [OH-] = 14

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

remember*

\[\color{green}{\text{pH} = - \log [\text{H}_3\text{O}^{+}]}\]

Would it be D? If not what am I doing wrong?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

Hydroxide ion [OH-].....so you use pOH = -log[OH-], in this case its 6. 14 - pOH = pH 14- 6 = pH
