can somebody help me i dont understand this
understand what
which number makes this equation true v^2+10v+16=(v+8)(v+?)
idk i am so sorry i would help if i could
2 4 6 8 but do not give the answer i need to learn it
ok @ShawnSpencer thanks anyways
i know what you mean i like to learn it
i dont like learning its just that its something i need to learn for the ECA
\(v^2 + 10v + 16 = (v + 8)(v +~?)\) Okay, it wants you to find the number and then you multiply the two binomials together..and we have to get \(v^2 + 10v + 16\) when we do. Let's try 2 first: \(v^2 + 10v + 16 = (v + 8)(v + 2)\) \((v + 8)(v + 2)\) Distribute, when we distribute we multiply the first term in the first parenthesis to both numbers in the last parenthesis, and then we multiply the 2nd term in the first parenthesis to both numbers in the last parenthesis, so we're going to multiply: \(v \times v\) \(v \times 2\) \(8 \times v\) \(8 \times 2\) Can you multiply those?
v^2 v2/2v 8v 16
Yes! So we have: \(v^2 + 2v + 8v + 16\) Now we combine like terms, we add \(2v + 8v\), and what do you get?
10v
Yes, so we get: \(v^2 + 10v + 16\) So 2 is our answer! Because when we plug it in and distribute we get \(v^2 + 10v + 16\). \(v^2 + 10v + 16 = (v + 8)(v + 2)\)
ok thank you soo much
No problem :)
