Two stars that appear close to each other in the night sky. A) are always part of the same cluster of stars in space. B)must both be moving in the same direction C)are gravitationally bound D)may actually be quite far apart I think D is not correct, Im not sure about B, if B D are not correct then left A and C. Which one?
It's a binary system, they will be orbiting around a common mass.
Centre of mass I should say
This question is very vague though
I googled binary stars but couldn't find source that clearly states whether they're are gravitationally bound or are always part of the same cluster
Well clusters are massive, and if these stars are together, they have to be in the same cluster which is a group of stars that are gravitationally bound
I wonder what they mean by "close"
Mhm will it tell you the right answer soon as you answer it?
I guess go with C
Because I'm thinking it is a binary system
no its a paper assignment
its not like Webassign or Mastering physics...:(
yeah Im guessing its C Thanks!!
Alright :), hey when you get the answer back, do you mind posting it here? Thanks
sure! will do!
