Which of the following is the final equation for refining zinc metal from its ore? A. 2ZnS + 3O2 + C → 2SO2 + 2Zn + CO2 B. 2ZnS + 3O2 + C → 2SO2 + 2Zn + CO C. 2ZnS + 6O2 + C → 2SO2 + 2Zn + CO2 D. 4ZnS + 3O2 + C → 2SO2 + 4Zn + CO2

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@dtan5457 Do you know this one?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Are all the equations balanced? If not, I'm assuming it's the one that is balanced, as a reaction can only take place if so

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@dtan5457 yeah and i think it's A

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

yeah, A is balanced.

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

but they're all balanced...

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Look at the second one, the only change is that CO2 is missing the 2 from answer A. It is not balanced.

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

oh ok thanks
